PANNO GROSSO DEL CASENTINO

In the territories where I live, on the border between Romagna and Tuscany, there is a great tradition of spinning and weaving of wool present since the Etruscan era.

The identifying article of this tradition has always been the so-called "Casentino coarse cloth", the quality of the yarn in 100% pure virgin wool, the particular texture very beaten, the subsequent finishing process and the wool fiber used, make this Particularly resistant fabric, natural water repellent, capable of not transmitting the sensation of wetness and of maintaining the characteristics of thermal properties even when it is damp. The "Casentino coarse cloth" was the woolen fabric that was once used to make capes for shepherds, coats for birocciai and blankets for draft horses. The wool used comes from sheep not subjected to the "mulesing" treatment.

100% Pure virgin wool

The thermal insulation material used as padding inside Manifattura Ceccarelli garments, in full respect of nature and animals, is 100% pure virgin wool.

Wool has always been the best thermal insulation existing in nature, it does not deteriorate over time while maintaining its characteristics unchanged, natural water repellent, hygroscopic as it transports sweat from the body outwards without becoming impregnated, maintains its thermal properties even if wet and constant body heat. Coming from sheep not subjected to the "mulesing" treatment.

Bemberg Cupro

Bemberg is the brand of the Cupro, a regenerated cellulose cotton fiber.

The cotton gauze, fluff around the seed normally not used as fiber, is transformed into pure regenerated fiber through a process of aging and dissolution, from which the Bemberg / Cupro fabric is made. Although it is derived from cotton, Bemberg is a continuous, very fine fiber, similar to silk, with an almost round section and a smooth surface that does not irritate the skin. Bemberg also has important breathability properties as it quickly absorbs moisture which it releases through micro-holes invisible to the naked eye. In this absorption process, Bemberg generates thermal energy, which produces heat especially when combined with another insulating fiber such as wool, for this Manifattura Ceccarelli has chosen to use Bemberg Cupro as the lining of its winter jackets. Made with a natural fiber, Bemberg is 100% biodegradable.

Waxed Cotton

It is the fabric with which Manifattura Ceccarelli has been making its winter garments for many years.

It is a 10oz poplin fabric made with 100% double twisted cotton very resistant to wear and abrasion, made water-repellent with an immersion treatment in molten paraffin tanks. It is the fabric with which Manifattura Ceccarelli has been making its winter garments for many years. This fabric makes Manifattura Ceccarelli water-repellent, comfortable and particularly suitable for use both in the countryside and in the city.

Dry Cotton

Perfect for making very comfortable and resistant garments.

It is an 8oz poplin fabric made with 100% double twisted cotton very resistant to wear and abrasion, made water repellent by a treatment with paraffin spray directly on the cotton fiber before spinning, which makes the fabric particularly soft, light, breathable and slightly writing, perfect for making very comfortable and resistant garments.

Light Dry Cotton

Particularly suitable for making light, resistant and water-repellent garments.

It is a light 6oz fabric made with 100% double twisted cotton yarn. Particularly suitable for making light, resistant and water-repellent garments. Water repellency is obtained through a treatment with paraffin particles sprayed on the cotton fiber before spinning. This makes this fabric perfect for making garments to be worn in spring or autumn on rainy days. This fabric is made exclusively for Manifattura Ceccarelli garments.

The manufacturing craftsmanship of 100% Made in Italy production completes the identity of the Manifattura Ceccarelli brand.
